Program Guidelines
Program Application and Acceptance
To apply to be a City Hive affiliate, please fill out our Affiliate Application. To participate and qualify for financial incentives, you will be required to consent to our Affiliate Partner Program Agreement. Program guidelines are included within the agreement.
The information provided will help us determine whether the partnership is a good fit for both parties. If accepted into the program, you will be contacted by a member of our team with further information.
Once you have agreed to the Affiliate Program Agreement, you will be assigned a Sales Team Partner and have the opportunity to participate in a product demo to better familiarize yourself with the City Hive product scope and features.
At this time, you will be provided a unique affiliate link to use for qualified referrals. Referrals that create an account using the link and convert to a paid account within 90 days will qualify towards your tier and revenue share compensation.
Qualified Referrals & Financial Incentives
To qualify for the outlined tiers and financial incentives, referrals to the City Hive platform must register to the platform through your assigned affiliate link. This allows us to track your referrals and report their status in the onboarding process. Once a referral has on-boarded to the platform and becomes revenue-generating, you will be compensated in alignment with your tier.
Types of clients that qualify for the program:
- Retailers
- Distributors and Wholesalers
- Suppliers
- Brands
Types of revenue that qualify for the program incentive:
- SaaS (Software as a Service) is defined as fees for software services, such as monthly merchant subscription fees for use of the City Hive platform. Our standard merchant pricing is outlined here.
- Advertising is defined as fees for advertising services, such as promotional banners published through the City Hive platform.
Referrals will remain active for 90 days after the initial sign-up through your referral link. I.e., clients must become revenue-generating within 90 days of referral for you to qualify for the associated financial incentives. Referrals can be renewed if proactive notice is given to a partner’s primary contact if more than 90 days be required and activity with the lead remains active.
The following outlines common scenarios and their respective financial incentives:
If you refer three retailers who are onboarded to City Hive at our base plan and pay $99/ month for their subscription fee for at least 3 months, then you will be at the Bronze Tier and you will earn $222.75 within 3 months (close to $75/ referral). This is calculated as follows:
$99 / mo x 25% Revenue Share x 3 Merchants x 3 Months = $222.75
If you refer ten retailers who are onboarded to City Hive at our Pro plan and pay $149/ month for their subscription fee for at least 12 months, then you will be at the Silver Tier and you will earn $2,458.50 within 12 months (close to $250/ referral). This is calculated as follows:
$149 / mo x 25% Revenue Share x 10 Merchants x 3 Months = $1,117.50 +
$149 / mo x 10% Revenue Share x 10 Merchants x 9 Months = $1,341
Total = $2,458.50
These are simplified examples that do not take into account merchant upgrades that are also common within the platform (e.g., if a retailer starts at $99 for the first month and then upgrades to $499 in the second month, you will qualify for a percentage from the new tier).
All client invoices must be paid for you to qualify for the referral benefit.
